Why None Dare Call It Treason Trump

By Arthur Burns

There is no doubt that the 2016 presidential election in the United States will forever stand out in history, although many today would argue about how people will remember it. Although supporters of the current Commander in Chief would say otherwise, it seems inevitable that collusion with Russia will be the defining factor of this president and his election. Why none dare call it treason Trump is a complicated question, and takes a fair amount of legal knowledge to understand what that actually means.

A crime as serious as treason takes a number of specific aspects for the crime to be qualified as such. This is a legal term which refers to the act of levying war against the US, so doing so necessitates working with a power that the US is at war with. These specifications very clearly define what is and what is not in the category of this crime.

With the pace of today's news, it is hard to keep up with everything for those who do not have time to take a lot of time every day to read the news, and it can be easy to be distracted. People who are in showbusiness are well-versed in certain tricks of the trade, one of them being the art of distraction. The current president's tendency to bring up irrelevant issues to draw attention away from greater ones that are going on in his administration has been one of the tactics in play.

Opposition research is a perfectly normal thing in many different trades and professional industries, including in the world of politics. However, it is highly irregular for such information to come from a foreign power. That is why the actions of the current administration are being called shameful.

On June 9th, 2016, there was a meeting that was held between Jared Kushner, Paul Manafort, Donald Trump Jr., and an emissary of the Kremlin. The existence of this meeting had been denied until it was confirmed to have actually happened. This was when information was allegedly gained about Hillary Clinton.

The claim of the administration is that the meeting in June, 2016, was not a successful one. The president and others claim that no useful information became of it. However, since other information that the administration has provided has proven to not be true, this has continued to be investigated thoroughly.

Following the revelation about the meeting, Donald Jr.'s emails were investigated. In these emails, there was no information that confirmed the lack of success of the meeting with the Kremlin. This has caused the investigation to continue.

One of the suspicious things about the Trump boys' recollection of the events surrounding the meeting and the emails that relate to it is the difference in their versions of the story. This is usually a sign that one or both of the people are lying. Time will most likely tell what the true version of events is.
