How To Look For A Catholic Preschool San Francisco

By Gary Graham

Getting a good school for your children goes beyond just skills and reasoning. A good school should also be able to inject morality and values, as well as character into the individual. Thus if you are of this mindset, it may be a good choice for you to have your child enroll in a Catholic preschool San Francisco area. Before you do go looking for one, try to finish this article first.

Before you do anything else that will start off your search, it is probably best to make some sort of checklist to assist you. This checklist will help in making you keep track of the things and items that you need to know about, and also to remind you of things that you do not. A good checklist is invaluable in making you arrive at an informed decision.

The preschool that you have in mind must go beyond being known as Catholic, it must be part of a larger whole. It should be either be part of the diocese itself or an organization of Catholic accredited and organized schools. In this way you know that it is really a part of the Mother Church and will not go astray in its teachings.

It is a good idea to look t the program of instructions and the way that they will teach by way of lesson plans and such Most schools today, Catholic ones included, do not instill the value of loving Christ at the onset, and just focus on the human and social values. Make sure that not only love of Christ is given at the beginning, but that they are also started on the road to catechism for preparation in terms of First Communion and such.

It will also do well for you to look at the spiritual exercise that will be given to the children, especially in the form of prayer. Children at the earliest stages must be taught a love and appreciation for prayer, especially praying at certain times of the day or during certain activities.

The institution you have an eye on must also have additional services that can be extended outwards to the community and parents as well. These so called ancillary services must be spiritual in nature and be able to give spiritual guidance and shepherding to those who will need it.

The institution you have a mind on choosing must also have a chaplain or access to a chaplain or regular priest. The priest is an important component of a Catholic institution, and he does not necessarily have to head it, but at least have a strong and important presence in the community and everyday activities.

And last but not the least, the staff and faculty of the institution must be well formed and devout Catholics as well. These people are at the front line of forming young hearts and minds, and thus it is important that they also do espouse and radiate Catholic values and ways of life.
