Enrolling In An Inclusive Preschool

By Raymond Butler

Almost nobody one lives inside of a bubble. While some people do live in echo chambers in which a certain of opinions and values are parroted and validated, no living human being is going to go their entire life without meeting at least one or two persons from a background different from theirs. This is becomingly increasingly impossible in an era of globalization, where stock trades in one country can destabilize markets halfway across the world. In the past, this would have been unthinkable. One country sinking into an economic tailspin would have been a boon for another. Now if one country sinks, every other country will feel the impact to some degree. Consequently, it is of paramount importance that children be socialized around people of different backgrounds, in order to acclimate them to a future in which borders and flags may no longer hold the same meaning that they do. So, they can be enrolled in an inclusive preschool Los Angeles.

There are many benefits to schooling at an early age. Young children are still learning their social skills. Doing so in a classroom environment under the supervision of a licensed professional can mean that they are socialized much more effectively than if they were just playing by themselves or with the children of the friends of their parents, who may be somewhat older and further along in their development. It is important to be socialized around peers, around people of a similar age.

But educating a child is not the only thing a preschool does. When adults decide to raise a child, they do so knowing that that tiny person will now control around ninety percent of their schedule. But what they do not generally expect is what that entails. Once the child is born, the parents may lose whatever free time they used to have. That means that their self care goes right out of the window. But sending a kid to school means that for a few hours a day, they have some free time.

Societies are not as they once were. Nowadays, borders, flags, and national identities are quickly becoming arbitrary if not outright meaningless. So, everyone needs to get acclimated to each other. The world is soon going to be one in which all peoples live in all places. That is the future.

This is particularly important in certain cities. Some cities are fairly homogenous in their composition, with one demographic emerging as a clear cut majority. But other cities, particularly the wealthy coastal ones, are extremely cosmopolitan in their makeup and include peoples from all over the world at every socioeconomic level.

Work must be compensated with a paycheck. Such is the basic principle of labor. Teachers are no different. They expect that the labor they have rendered was done so in exchange for a paycheck. So, schools are not free. Some may seem like it, but they actually are not.

Private preschools are very selective. The thing is that the parents must first be screened before they are allowed to give the administration money to make their child educated. Public preschools on the other hand are mandated by law to take in every child that lives within their assigned district.

Now, private schools cost more money and they are much more selective about their enrollment. It is not just the prospective students that are evaluated, but the parents are as well. Public schools on the other hand are more egalitarian, as they are required to take anyone who lives in their district.

The world is going to be by individuals from all walks of life. It is important to get used to taking orders from someone who is different. These are lessons that can be learned early.
